About
Coalwave exists to breathe hope into water- where legacy meets life.
In the heart of Ashington's mining past we are building a sanctuary of movement, inclusion and healing. We aim to awaken confidence in the community that we are here to be swimmingly inclusive. We aim to awaken confidence, empower the disabled, train the future and create waves of change- So every child, every family, every individual and every forgotten voice finds strength and belonging in the water.

We are building more than a pool, we build possibilities.
Coalwave delivers inclusive aquatic experiences. Lessons where a pupil is worth more than their outcomes and expectations, aquatic therapy, engaging community open sessions, water safety education, inclusive training opportunities, a community space where it is needed most. We partner with schools, health services, families, and individuals to reach those often left behind. Through vocational training, community engagement programmes, and sensory - friendly design, we make water not just accessible, but transformational. Every session, every stroke, is a step toward confidence, resilience and community wellbeing.
